Mary Margaret Bockrath
GLANDORF-- Mary Margaret Bockrath, 95, of Glandorf died 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Hilty Home, Pandora. She was born March 14, 1924 in Greensburg Township to the late William P. and Christine (Hentges) Maas. On November 9, 1946 she married Tom Bockrath, who preceded her in death on August 20, 2009.
She is survived by 6 children: Larry (Janet) Bockrath of Ottawa, Shirley (William) Mayberry of Columbus Grove, Allan (Kathy) Bockrath of Lansing, KS, Brenda (Dennis) Closson of Ottawa, Mary Kris (Charles) Warnimont of Glandorf and Joseph Bockrath of Glandorf; a daughter-in-law: Karen Bockrath; 2 sons-in-law: Mike Aller and David Schumacker; 42 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; 8 step-great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; and a sister: Ruth Nienberg of Oakland, CA.
Mary is preceded in death by a son: Dennis Bockrath; 2 daughters: Barbara Schumaker and Karen Aller; a sister: Theresa (Emmitt) Sturtevant; 3 brothers: Camillius (Joyce) Maas, Ed (Dororthy) Maas and Hubert (Veronica) Maas and a brother-in-law: Robert Nienberg.
Mary was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and its Altar Rosary Society and C. L. of C. She was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm. She enjoyed playing bingo and sewing, especially making quilted comforters. Gardening and ceramics were some of her favorite pastimes.
The funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Father Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where a scripture service will be at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.
