Nellie R. Dockery

   CONTINENTAL - Nellie R. Dockery, 81, of Continental died at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at The Laurels of Defiance. She was born March 23, 1937 in Grason County, VA to the late Harold and Beulah Faye (Sullivan) Salyers. On July 29, 1953 she married Clay E. Dockery who died June 26, 2010.

   She is survived by four children, Erchil (Sandra) Dockery, Terry (Kelly) Dockery, Reona (Jim) Snyder, and Beth (Barry) Rau all of Continental; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Chuck Salyers of Deshler and MacArthur Salyers of Nickelsville, VA; and three sisters, Leona Salyers of Continental, Jean Schroeder of Glandorf, and Judy Messer of Hicksville. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Johnny Salyers; three sisters, Della Bevins, Naomi Porter, Wilma Brashear; and a great-granddaughter, Chelsea Juarez.

   Nellie was a homemaker. She loved spoiling her kids and grandbabies and going places to listen to her husband play music.

   Funeral Services will be 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Rev. Terry Porter officiating. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, and again Friday morning from 10:30 a.m. until departure for a graveside service at 11 a.m. at Monroe Cemetery, Continental.
