Patricia Louise Doepker Macke

    OTTAWA -- Patricia Louise Doepker Macke, 89, of Ottawa died 6:15 a.m. Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Meadows of Ottawa.  She was born March 17, 1929 in Ottawa to the late Norman J. and Mathilda C. (Nartker) Doepker.  On February 3, 1951 she married John J. Macke, who preceded her in death on October 9, 2004.

    She is survived by 3 sons:  Tim (Phyllis) Macke and Ted (Nancy) Macke, both of Ottawa and Mark (Pam) Macke of Pandora; a daughter:  Mary Jean (Gordon) Galloway of Fairborn; 12 grandchildren:  Joanna (Jim) Cross, Ben (Theresa) Macke, Pete (Katie) Macke, Alison (Eric) Siefker, Jacob Macke, Drew (Laine) Macke, Neil Macke, Amy (Jared) Diller, Bethany (Seth) Amstutz, Tyler (Lauren) Macke, Brandon (Lindsay) Badgeley and Zachary Galloway; 29 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters:  Ruth (Don) Tesmond of Chicago, IL, Marilyn Weber of Ottawa and Molly Weisgerber of Surprise, AZ; and 3 sisters-in-law:  Lois Doepker, Joan Doepker and Anita Doepker Swary, all of Ottawa.  The Macke Family would like to thank Patricia's Meadows of Ottawa Family, and Putnam County Hospice for the loving care she received.

    Patricia is preceded in death by 4 brothers:  Don Doepker, Bill Doepker, Norman Doepker and Tom Doepker; 2 brothers-in-law: Tom Weber and Dick Weisgerber; and a sister-in-law:  Martha Doepker.

    Patricia graduated from Sts. Peter and Paul High School, Ottawa and St. Rita's Hospital School of Nursing, Lima.  She practiced nursing until 1978.  She attended the Toledo Diocesan Lay Ministry Program and worked in Lay Ministry in St. John the Baptist Parish, Glandorf and in the Diocesan Lay Ministry Program and retired from these.

    She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, a member of its Rosary Altar Society, a Eucharistic Minister and on the Parish Grief Committee.  Patricia was a member of the Ottawa Senior Citizens, St. Rita's Alumni, St. Rita's Auxiliary and served as a board member for Ottawa Area Housing, Inc.  She was a volunteer at St. Rita's Regional Cancer Resource Center.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Father Matt Jozefiak officiating.  Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Glandorf.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa and again Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at church.  There will be a rosary service at 10:30 a.m. in church.

    Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul School Capital Campaign or the OurMissionIsPossible.org.
