Paul E. Wank

   LEIPSIC - Paul E. Wank, 79, of Leipsic died at 5:18 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born September 1, 1938 in Putnam County to the late Norbert and Esther (Ruhe) Wank. On November 30, 1963 he married Pauline Mangas and she died August 12, 2017.

   He is survived by four children, David Wank of Defiance, Kathy (Joe) Verhoff of Kalida, Susan (David) Godsil of Ottawa, and Mary (Scott) Schroeder of Leipsic; thirteen grandchildren, Kyle, Samantha, Justin, Elizabeth, Sarah, Noah, Joshua, Kerry, Patrick, Dan, Sydney, Clark and Adelyn; a sister, Nancy (Gerry) Lonsway of Oregon; and a brother, Tom (Barb) Wank of Leipsic. He was also preceded in death by a son, Doug Wank; a sister, Karen Wank; and a brother-in-law, Norm Gillen.

   Paul was a lifelong farmer and a retired rural postal carrier. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria and was on the Parish Council, a Eucharistic Minister, usher and Lector. He was a US Navy Veteran and a social member of New Bavaria VFW, a 3rd Degree member of Ottawa Knights of Columbus, and a member of Miller City Athletic Boosters. Paul was a graduate of The Ohio State University and loved attending his grandchildren's activities and sporting events.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 3, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria with Fr. Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:30 p.m.

   Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
