Paul “Tub” Winhover
OTTOVILLE – Paul “Tub” Winhover, 91, of Ottoville died 7:15 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at his residence. He was born January 8, 1927 in Delphos to the late John and Mary (Buecher) Winhover. On November 9, 1953 he married Mary Alice Mesker, who preceded him in death on March 19, 1998. He is also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
He is survived by 3 children: John (Tammy Carr) Winhover of Ottoville, Jim (Teresa Stark) Winhover of Convoy, and Jane (Ron) Coon of Celina; 8 grandchildren: Ashley (Brian) Patrizzi, Ian McGhee, Tyler Winhover, Brittany Winhover, Elaina Winhover, Monica Winhover, Joel (Lindsay) Kaufman and Brooke (Zach Lutmer) Kaufman; and 3 great-grandchildren: Brynn Lutmer, Ella Patrizzi and Eli Patrizzi; and his special friend Inez Sarka of Kalida.
Paul retired from both the US Navy and the US Army with 21 years of service. He also retired from General Dynamic, Lima. His family was very important to him and he loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Paul was a life member of both the Ottoville VFW and the Fort Jennings American Legion. He was also an avid Buckeye fan.
The funeral service for Paul will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township with Father John Stites officiating. There will be military rites following the service by the Ottoville VFW and the Fort Jennings American Legion. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and again for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
