Ralph A. Schnipke
CLOVERDALE - Ralph A. Schnipke, 80, of Cloverdale died at 9:48 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018 at The Meadows of Kalida. He was born January 30, 1938 in Cloverdale to the late Henry and Lillian (Miller) Schnipke. On January 30, 1960 he married Wilma Schroeder who survives in Cloverdale.
Also surviving are four children, Alan (Vicki) Schnipke of Delphos, Alice (Philip) Maag of Columbus Grove, Alvin (Brenda) Schnipke of Cloverdale, and Andy (Traci) Schnipke of Lima; ten grandchildren, Joshua Maag, Rachel (Austin) Basinger, Erin Maag, Craig (Tiffany) Schnipke, Bethany Schnipke, Kimberly (Jared Fortman) Schnipke, Lane Schnipke, C.J. Schnipke, Megan (Dylan Eldridge) Schnipke, and Adam Schnipke; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Nate Basinger and one on-the-way; three brothers, Oscar (Shirley) Schnipke of Glandorf, Bob (Pat) Schnipke of Ottawa Lake, MI, Karl (Pat) Schnipke of Toledo; two sisters, Laura (Dick) Coressel of Glandorf and Margie Schroeder of Kalida; and two sisters-in-law, Pam Schnipke of Ottoville and Dolores Schnipke of Glandorf. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Urban, Virgil, and Othmar Schnipke and a sister, Helen Schroeder.
Ralph retired in 2000 after 35 years from General Motors of Defiance and was a farmer. He was a member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church, Cloverdale and its Holy Name Society.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2018 at St. Barbara's Catholic Church, Cloverdale with the Very Reverend Jerome Schetter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where there will be a Scripture Service at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday.
