I only met Msgr. Schmenk once when he was stationed at St. Charles in Lima. Reading his obituary was amazing. I had no idea how musically talented he was. May he rest in peace. Condolences to his family.

Fr. Cleo and my husband Timothy Loeb (passed 5/31/2016) worked together and were friends. They worked together in the Deaconte office and later Tim did some translating for Cleo.
They shared a mutual birthday and I spoke to Fr. Cleo on his last birthday. He has been a good friend to our family.

Father Cleo was the utmost and precious family member! He was my late father Richard Schmenks cousin and therefore my second cousin I believe. We have 15 brothers and sisters in our family and every time he would visit us we had nothing but laughs and fun with him! He will be sorely missed!! Truly a kind hearted and free spirited man! We all loved him very much!! Rest in peace Fr. Cleo, we will never forget the fun times and memories we shared with you in our childhood!! Xo Heaven has a new and deserving angel!!

Monsignor Cleo,
It was such an honor to serve you when Catalina was ill. It was a blessing that you came into my life. You shared your life stories as well as mine.
Forever I will have a beautiful memory of you and Bishop Noonan when he visited your home on that "special" day. Both of you blessed and prayed for myself and family. I know you are with the Lord and continue to be my angel from heaven.

It is with sincere sympathy in the loss of one of the most wonderful priest that I have had the pleasure of knowing while he was at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria, Ohio. I had the privilege of visiting with him when Bishop Robert J. Baker was ordained to the Charleston, SC Diocese as our Most Reverend Bishop. It was a reunion of the Bugner girls as there were 8 of us in attendance. May his soul have eternal rest in the glory of our heavenly Father. Love to all his family and friends.... Alumni of the class of 1964, Mary Jo Bugner Dudgeon, from Florence, SC

My sincerest condolences go to all of Fr. Bud's family and friends. He was a favorite of my family when I was growing up. I always looked forward to seeing his twinkling eyes when he visited. My prayers are with all of you.
