Steven L. "Gopher" Kleman
MILLER CITY - Steven L. "Gopher" Kleman, 62, of Miller City died 11:10 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Bridge Hospice in Findlay. He was born February 8, 1956 in Lima to the late Norbert "Bud" Kleman and Rita (Unterbrink) Kleman Steffan. On May 15, 1976, he married Judith "Judy" Schroeder and she survives in Miller City.
Other survivors include three sons: Shane (Danielle) Kleman of Miller City, Josh (Leah) Kleman of Kalida and Cody (Michelle) Kleman of Chicago; six grandchildren: Aubrey, Grayden, Maverick, Makayla, Sheldon and Lillian; siblings: Janet Leopold of Ottawa, Dan (Linda) Kleman of Findlay, Jane (Ken) Hermiller of Columbus Grove, Kenneth (Shirley) Kleman of Miller City and Jackie (Kevin) Schroeder of Leipsic; and a sister-in-law, Blanche Kleman of Alabama.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Jerry Kleman and Jim (Connie) Kleman; a brother-in-law, Terry Leopold; and his favorite dog, Lucy.
Steve retired after 38 years of driving truck for Ward's Construction of Leipsic as well as retired after 16 years as a volunteer fireman with Miller City Fire Department. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City and a social member of the Leipsic VFW. Gopher enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking BBQ chicken with 4K BBQ and playing music with C & G Sounds.
A Mass of Christian burial will begin 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 7, 2018 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City with Fr. Eric Burgener and Msgr. Charles Singler concelebrating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., Sunday at LOVE FUNRAL HOME, Ottawa with a scripture service at 1:45 p.m.
