OTTAWA - Wilfrid J. Schulte, 88, of Ottawa died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. He was born January 14, 1930 in Kalida to the late Joe and Catherine (Drerup) Schulte. On June 23, 1978 he married Angela (Deters) Westrick, who passed away October 14, 2017.
Also surviving are two step-children, Shirley (Dennis) Warniment, and Pat Chamberlin all of Ottawa; a brother, Tom Schulte of Pandora; and two sisters, Florence Sehlhorst of Bluffton and Esther Schroeder of New Cleveland; his brother in law: George Seifried of Florida; 2 sister in laws: Jeanne Schulte of Pandora and Maxine Schulte of Ottawa; numerous nieces and nephews; 9 step grandchildren and 14 step great grandchildren. Will was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Alvin Schulte; four sisters, Eleanor Seifried, Alice (Bill) Balas, Delores (Scott) Boyer, and Martha (Don) Doepker; 2 stepsons, Marty Westrick and Bill Westrick; and his stepdaughter, Linda Johnston; 2 step son in laws: Larry Johnston and Deano Chamberlin; 1 sister in law: Janice Schulte; 2 brother in laws: Hank Sehlhorst and Melvin Schroeder: 4 step great grandchildren: Stella and Griffin Warniment , Auggie Monnin and Leslie Johnston.
Will was a lifelong farmer and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2018 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. John Stites officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Ottawa American Legion, VFW, and AMVETS. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a Scripture Service at 7:50 p.m. Memorials may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Capital Campaign or to a charity of the donor's choice.
