William F. Miller
OTTAWA - William F. Miller, 96, of Ottawa died at 2:17 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at The Meadows of Ottawa. He was born April 3, 1922 in Miller City to the late Nish and Emma (Engemann) Miller. On June 22, 1950 he married Alberta C. Korte who survives in Ottawa.
Also surviving are two children, Marianne (James) Ellerbrock of Glandorf and Stephen (Alicia) Miller of Westerville; three grandchildren, Shelly (Adrian) Drake, Missy Ellerbrock, and Mindi Kern; and six great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Ellerbrock, Ethan Drake, Quentin Drake, Michael Kern, Addison Kern, and Kendra Kern. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother and three sisters Betty Miller, Irene (Joseph) Grevencamp, and Sr. Miriam Miller.
Bill was retired from GTE Sylvania, formerly of Ottawa. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, the Ottawa American Legion, and Ottawa Eagles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Rick Friebel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Ottawa American Legion, VFW, and AmVets. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. Memorials may be made to Putnam County Hospice or to Sts. Peter and Paul Building Fund.
