William K. "Bill" Roberts

I knew Bill in high school. We played together on an Ottawa Public basketball team that had a perfect season in 1954 (we lost 17 in a row). There was a brief redeeming moment when we beat Glandorf (a far better team) in a double over-time in the playoffs. I still remember Bill making a perfect hook shot during our final on-slot. :-)

I most recently talked to Bill at the 50th anniversary of my Ottawa Public class of 1954. He was an eloquent, funny master of ceremonies.

A good guy, all round, I think.
