Agatha E. Kerns
DELPHOS – Agatha E. Kerns, 78, of Delphos died 6:27 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was born October 17, 1939 to the late Ed and Dorothy (Bigelow) Horstman. On July 23, 1960 she married George Kerns, Jr, who preceded her in death on April 19, 2017.
Agatha is survived by four children: Alan (Eileen) Kerns of Ottoville, George (Patricia) Kerns of Ottawa, Craig (Jan) Kerns of Elida and Sonia Stoner of Ottoville; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren with one on the way; a brother: Gerald Horstman of Fort Jennings; a sister-in-law: Elaine Horstman of Dayton and a brother-in-law: Paul Hemker of Delphos.
She is preceded in death by a son-in-law: Kenneth “Duffy” Jackson; a grandson: Jason Kerns; and 6 siblings: Harold Horstman, Denelda Brokamp, Rita Hemker, Delores Meeker, Euletta Von Sossan, and Carl Horstman.
Agatha was a homemaker and a member St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township and again for one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday. There will be a scripture service Tuesday at 5 p.m.
