  OAKWOOD – Andrew D. Newsome, 23, of Oakwood, died on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf. He was born May 13, 2000 in Defiance to Mindy Newsome.

  Andrew is also survived by Sherri Fitzsimmons of Oakwood; grandparents, Wayne and Shelley Newsome, Sr. of Oakwood; great-grandfather, John “Bob” Weisenburger of Oakwood; his beloved dog, Sophie as well as an aunt and cousins.

  He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: Julia Weisenburger  and Hobert and Mildred Newsome; and an uncle, Wayne “Fred” Newsome, Jr.

  Andrew worked as a laborer. He loved hunting, fishing, bonfires and spending time with his friends and family.

  Funeral services for Andrew will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Rev. Fred Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
