Anna Rosa Gonzalez

 LEIPSIC – Anna Rosa Gonzalez, 92, of Leipsic, passed away at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at the Meadows of Ottawa.  She was born July 26, 1928 in Robstown, TX to the late Genovevo and Santos (Castillo) Rosa.  On July 4, 1948 she married Estevan Gonzalez, he preceded her in death on November 2, 2008.

 Anna is survived by six children: Maria Bishop of St. George, UT., Maria Elena (Reynaldo) Leal of Findlay, Elia “Ellie” Alvarado of Hamler, Edna (Arturo) Lomeli of Leipsic, Lisa (Dennis) Nagy of Maumee, Rebecca (Bryan Yoxthimer) Dunbar of Findlay; twenty three grandchildren; twenty nine great-grandchildren; and forty six great-great-grandchildren.

 She is preceded in death by a son: Estevan Gonzalez Jr.; two sons-in-law: Felipe Alvarado Jr. and Sid Bishop; and seven siblings: Genovevo Rosa Jr., Daniel Rosa, Martha Guzman, Samuel Rosa, Otilia Pena, Ofelia Hernandez, and Olivia Tevan.

 Anna retired July 27, 1995 from Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.  Anna also served for Migrant Ministry, St. Mary’s Altar Rosary St. Mary’s Senior Citizens and Curcillo Movement.   She was a past officer of the Guadalupe Society.  She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Leipsic, Council on Aging Board, Ottawa and Leipsic Senior Citizens, and HHWP past board member.  Anna had received Outstanding Senior Citizen of the Year in 2003 and an Award for Service in God’s Work at St. Mary’s in 1998.

 Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic with Father Ron Schock officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the Parish Life Center.
