Beatrice “Biddy” Meyer

   NEW CLEVELAND – Beatrice “Biddy” Meyer, 92, of New Cleveland died at 6:24 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Putnam Heritage, Ottawa. She was born July 24, 1927 in Ottawa to the late Lawrence and Agnes (Dinan) Maas. On February 12, 1947 she married Robert H. Meyer who died April 3, 2007.

   She is survived by 5 children, Greg (Diane) Meyer of Bloomington, IL, Barbara (William) Kreinbrink of Ottawa, Ruth (James) Horstman of Kalida, Doris (Leonard) Michel of Continental, and Susan (Ken) Kahle of Columbus Grove; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Maas of Ottawa; a sister, Mary Catherine Siefker of Ottawa; 2 brothers-in-law, Elmer (Dorothy) Meyer of Leipsic and Roy (Jean) Meyer of Rockledge, FL; 5 sisters-in-law, Sr. Ruth Ann Meyer C.PP.S of Dayton, Betty Poliadis of Houston, Nancy (Don) Urbansky of Xenia, Pat Meyer of Leipsic, and Bonnie Janosik. She was also preceded in death by her son, Thomas Meyer;  1 brother, Don (Julie) Maas; 2 sisters, Ruth (Victor) Bellman and Maxine (Norbert) Lammers; 4 brothers-in-law, Don (Delores) Meyer, Ralph Meyer, Mel Meyer and Tom Siefker; a sister-in-law, Marie Maas.

   Biddy was a homemaker. She loved reading, gardening, sewing, and an occasional trip to the casino which she may have passed on to a few of her children. Biddy had a talent for repairing a lot of things, sometimes she even used all the parts. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland, its Rosary Altar Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She was a charter member of the Leipsic Eagles Auxiliary.

   Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland with Msgr. Charles Singler and Fr. Rick Friebel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers or gifts follow Biddy's example and do a simple act of kindness for someone or make a donation to Putnam County Home Health and Hospice or Nationwide Children’s Heart Center.
