Bettie J. (Maguire) Goodkin

  OTTAWA - Bettie J. Goodkin, 96, of Kalamazoo, MI, formerly of Ottawa, died 8:55 A.M., Friday, February 12, 2021 at Grace Valley Nursing Home, Kalamazoo, MI. She was born May 16, 1924 in Columbia, MO to the late Cecil and Edna (Graham) Feaster. In 1946, she married Leonard R. Maguire and he passed away in 1982. They lived in Emporium, PA until moving to Ottawa in 1965.  In 1984 Bettie married Sidney Goodkin and he preceded her in death in February of 2019. 

  Bettie is survived by her children: Kay (Lee) Davis of Kalamazoo MI; Curt (Mary) Maguire of Columbus, OH and Gregg (Terri) Maguire of Columbus, OH.  She is also survived by a stepdaughter: Sue Goodkin-Alt; niece: Mary (James) Verette; stepdaughter-in-law: Pat Goodkin and grandchildren: Julia (Andrew) Murray & family, Mark Maguire, Bryan Davis & family, Ross Davis, Katie Bondy & family, Matt Maguire & family, Jordan Gann, Lauren (Alex) Boeger & family, A.J. Alt, Gretchen (Brett) Becker & family, Jay Goodkin, Gwen (Jose) Rocha & family. 

  She was preceded in death also by her sister: Martha Hamil.

  Bettie was a member of  Faith Baptist Church of Ottawa. She enjoyed playing a good game of scrabble, bowling, group exercise class and sewing. She had a great sense of humor and loved making others laugh. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker.

   Funeral services for Bettie will be at 12:00 noon Thursday, February 18, 2021 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Pastor Dennis Coates officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until time of service.  Burial will follow at Harman Cemetery, Gilboa. Due to regulations regarding Covid-19, masks will be required upon entering the funeral home.
