Betty Louise Rambo

  AVON, FORMERLY OF KALIDA - Betty Louise Rambo, 80 of Avon, formerly of Kalida died 12:55 a.m., Monday, June 1, 2020 at Northridge Health Care, North Ridgeville, Ohio.  She was born December 12, 1939 in Exeter, IL to the late Robert and Dolly (Light) Brackett.  On January 20, 1962, she married Donald E. Rambo.  He died March 7, 1998.

  Survivors include four children: Bob (Kathleen) Rambo of Leipsic, Mary (Dan) Burkart of Tiffin, Sue (Ryan) Beekman of Palm Bay, FL and Dan (Lisa Nartker) Rambo of Avon; nine grandchildren: Stacy (Rich) McCarthy, Nicole (Rudy) Rambo-Ackerman, Danielle Dible, Leah (Clay) Maas, Quinn Rambo (currently deployed), Amanda Beekman, Kristoffer (Hollie) Burkart, Sarah Rambo and Seth Rambo; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Bill Brackett of Kewanee, IL and Ken (Julie) Cookson of Sevierville, TN; and seven nieces and nephews.

  She was also preceded in death by a son, James David Rambo; her step father, Sherman Beckner; and her sister-in-law, Carol Brackett.

  Betty had worked at Putnam County Head Start and Putnam County Home Health and Hospice.  She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida and enjoyed crocheting and reading.  In honor of her father, who was killed in action during WWII, Betty was a charter member of the World War II Memorial Society. 

  A funeral mass will begin 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 5, 2020 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  In keeping with the social distancing guidelines, a visitation will be held one hour prior to the mass at the church.
