Cale Thomas “Bubs” Frankart

  LEIPSIC – Cale Thomas “Bubs” Frankart, 10, of Leipsic, passed away at 8:40 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Toledo ProMedica Children’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 2, 2013 in Bluffton to Andrew and Connie (Rosengarten) Frankart, who survive in Leipsic.

  Cale is also survived by two siblings: Lindsay and Cole Frankart, both at home; paternal grandparents: Tom and Nancy Frankart of Leipsic; maternal grandmother, Judy Rosengarten of Ottawa; paternal great-grandmothers: Ruth Frankart of Leipsic and Judy Brandt of Findlay; maternal great-grandmother, Betty Bellman of Ottawa; neighborhood grandmother, Kathy Martz; and was loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Kenneth Rosengarten; paternal great-grandparents: Larry Frankart and Harold and Shirley Otto; and maternal great-grandparents: Paul Bellman and Virgil and Lollie Gerschutz.

  Cale was a very active 4th grader at Leipsic Elementary School.  He enjoyed participating in many sports including football, basketball and baseball. Cale’s family had many nicknames for him including: C.T., Bubs, Smalls, Smalltown and Smallville. He also enjoyed sprint car racing (favorite driver was David Gravel), golfing, farming and gardening, especially raising sunflowers and watermelons. Cale loved golfcart, 4-wheeler and bike rides, RC cars, NASCAR (favorite driver was Ryan Blaney), boating at the lake, mowing grass, tractor pulls, collecting and trading sports cards, bright colors and drawing team logos. Cale liked to be contrary, hated homework but got straight A’s and had a heart of gold as he loved helping people. His favorite foods were chocolate filled stick donuts, sloppy joes, tacos and BLT sandwiches. Cale above all loved spending time with his friends and family.

  Funeral services for Cale will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Tim Eding officiating. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Leipsic.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 – 8 p.m., Wednesday from 2 – 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Leipsic Youth Flag Football, Leipsic Youth Summer Baseball, Challenge Basketball, Liberty Boys and Girls 4-H Club or First Christian Church Youth Group.
