Calvin Ray Woodruff, Sr.

OAKWOOD – Calvin Ray Woodruff, Sr., 64, of Oakwood, passed away at 4:13 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.  He was born on December 9, 1958, in Lima to the late Lewis and Dovie (Sargent) Woodruff. On September 8, 2015, he married Kim Elling, who survives in Oakwood.

  Other survivors include four children: Calvin (Janae) Woodruff, Jr., Brandon (Chanesse) Woodruff, both of Oakwood, Benjamin Woodruff of Columbia City, IN and Randi Woodruff of Oakwood; five stepchildren: Michelle Slaven of Spencerville, Janelle (George) Heise III, Kelsey (Dylan) Sergent, both of Lima, Kayla Lane of Oakwood and Kirsten Lane of Paulding; 22 grandchildren; and two brothers: Lewis Woodruff of Chillicothe and Ronnie Jones of FL.

  He is preceded in death by two sisters: Debbie Woodruff and Rhonda Woodruff.

  Calvin was a truck driver for Carter Express. He previously worked for Vanamatic, Delphos for 25 years. He was a supervisor for part of that time. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Calvin loved spending time with his children, especially his grandchildren.

 Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 20, 2023 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Pastor Kent Adkins officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
