Carl A. Brinkman
OTTAWA – Carl A. Brinkman, 88 of Ottawa, passed away at 2:49 a.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He was born December 5, 1933 in Ottawa to the late Albert and Florence (Balbaugh) Brinkman. On June 11, 1955, he married Helen Roof, who survives in Ottawa.
Other survivors include three children: Ann (Dennis) Westrick of Pandora, Joseph (Becky Grismore) Brinkman of Ottawa and Robert (Julie) Brinkman of Columbus Grove; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Norma Brinkman of Glandorf.
He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Westrick; a sister, Evelyn (Felix) Koenig; and a brother, Paul Brinkman.
Carl was a 1952 graduate of Sts. Peter and Paul High School, Ottawa. He was a lifelong farmer and owner/operator of CAR-LEN Transport Limited, which he leased to Landstar for many years. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa Knights of Columbus and Ottawa Eagles. Carl loved spending time with his family.
Funeral Mass will begin 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. on Friday with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:30 p.m. and a scripture service at 7:50 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to mass at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
