Carolyn Sue Schmersal

  Ottawa - Carolyn Sue Schmersal, 59, of Ottawa, died 11:48 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  She was born October 5, 1959 in Lima  to Robert H. and Ina Mae (Riepenhoff) Buckland.  Her father is deceased and mother survives in Ottawa.  On June 11, 1994 she married Paul Schmersal who survives in Ottawa.

   Carolyn is survived children: Jeffrey (Meredith) Schmersal of Ottawa, Chad Schmersal of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Todd Schmersal of Toledo; five grandchildren: Mason, Sydney, Brian and Brandon Schmersal and Amya Gossett; two brothers: Michael (Karen) Buckland of Winter Haven, Florida, Mark (Rita) Buckland of Marshall, Michigan and a sister, Nancy Wannemacher of Ottawa.

   Carolyn was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf.   She enjoyed her grandchildren, holiday decorations, shopping and Ohio State Football team.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf, with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating.   Burial will follow in church cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday, 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with a scripture service at 1:45 p.m.

   Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or donor's choice.
