Cathy S. Recker

  CONTINENTAL – Cathy S. Recker, 60, of Continental, passed away at 11:02 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023 at The Meadows of Ottawa surrounded by family. She was born February 5, 1963 in Findlay to David Hunter and Sue Yoakum. On October 24, 1992, she married Troy Recker, who survives in Continental.

  Other survivors include her mother, Sue (Yoakum) Cataline of Spring City, TN; father, David (Elaine) Hunter of Arcadia; two children: Madelyn (Mitch) Recker-Frilling of Columbus and Emma (Daniel Purtee) Recker of Continental; two grandchildren: Phoebe Frilling and Landon Jeffery; and two siblings: Cindy (Marv) Young of Defiance and John (Kristen) Hunter of Findlay.

  Cathy formerly served as the Putnam County Recorder from 2005 to 2020.  She also served as President of the Ohio Recorders’ Association and represented the ORA at the National Property Records Index Association. She was involved in Children’s Christian Ministries, enjoyed golfing and loved spending time with her family.

  Funeral services will begin 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Free Christian Church of God, Continental with Rev. Jim Fry officiating. Burial will be at a later date at North Mount Zion Cemetery, Continental. Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at Free Christian Church of God, Continental.

  Arrangements are under the direction of HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental.
