Cheryl Louise “Cheri” Streicher
CONTINENTAL - Cheryl Louise “Cheri” Streicher (65) was born on March 29, 1958 in Defiance, OH to her mother Barbara L. Brower Bidlack (surviving) and father John L. Streicher. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at CHP Hospice Center in Defiance, OH surrounded by her family.
Cheri is preceded in death by her father, John Streicher, brother, Timothy Streicher, and special aunt, Charlotte Simonis.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Cindy Streicher, nephew, Jordan (Jill) Streicher, nieces, Emily (Will Henry) Clark and Allison (Nathan) Schmidt, great nephews, Haden and Abram Streicher and Layne Schmidt, great nieces, Norah Streicher and Lydia and Londyn Schmidt, as well as many loved cousins. Cheri also had a heart for animals, especially her beloved cats Lola, Oliver, Lefty, and Bobalu.
Cheri graduated from Continental High School in 1976, went on to attend undergrad at Ohio Northern University, and ultimately received her Master’s Degree from the prestigious Miami University.
In her free time Cheri enjoyed slipping away on multiple Caribbean cruises with her Aunt Char.
As a young business professional Cheri worked at different television stations in the Fort Wayne area. After moving back to Ohio, Cheri stayed busy raising money to fund many local and regional services such as the CHP Hospice Center. Cheri also worked at Thrivent and most recently retired from Harbor where she excelled as a job developer. Later in life, her deep loyalty towards the community of Continental drove Cheri to move back to her childhood home. She took pride in restoring the home to its original beauty, adding her own little touches along the way.
Cheri’s passion for her community was most clearly displayed through her extensive volunteer work. Whether it was acting as line judge for the high school volleyball team, providing donations/equipment through the Continental Blue & Gold Club, organizing the local Weather Group, or facilitating the local Pizza Eating Contest, Cheri’s fingerprints were on everything community related. She was a proud member of the Continental Legion Auxiliary, Past Matron of the Continental Eastern Stars #129, also serving as Past Deputy Grand Matron of Ohio. Cheri was an Ohio High School Volleyball official and former Montpellier Village Counsel member.
