Coletta A. Schimmoeller
FORT JENNINGS – Coletta A. Schimmoeller, 95, of Fort Jennings, died 8:25 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at The Meadows of Kalida surrounded by family. She was born August 4, 1926, in Kalida to the late John and Frances (German) Schnipke. On November 13, 1946, she married Donald Schimmoeller, who preceded her in death on March 17, 2011.
Survivors include four children: Carol Youngpeter of Orion, MI, Susan (Tim) Calvelage of Kalida, William Schimmoeller of Delphos and Jean (Daniel) Saum of Fort Jennings; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Jane Schimmoeller of Fort Jennings, and a sister-in-law, Joanie Schnipke.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Daniel Schimmoeller; a great-grandson, Reece Saum; a son-in-law, Dale Youngpeter; a daughter-in-law: Madelyn Schimmoeller; seven brothers: Thomas (Mary Ann) Schnipke, Melitus (Frances) Schnipke, Alfred Schnipke, Isadore (Bertha) Schnipke, Vincent (Carmelita) Schnipke, William (Eleanor “Norie”) Schnipke, Donald Schnipke; and three sisters: Ladonna (Leo) Burgei, Sr. Xavier Schnipke C.PP.S and Jean (Bob) Byrnes.
Coletta retired from Aeroquip, Van Wert. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She was a hard worker and was her husband’s right-hand on the farm. Coletta loved flowers and enjoyed gardening and canning her produce. She once sponsored two children in need of cleft pallet surgery.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings with Father Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 2 to 8 p.m., Sunday with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to the mass at LOVE- HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
