OTTOVILLE – Connie L. Koester, age 95, former resident of Fort Wayne, Indiana, died peacefully, on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, Ohio, surrounded by loved ones. Connie was born on January 2, 1928, in Ottoville to the late Anthony and Petronella “Nellie”(Greulich) Koester.

Connie is survived by two sisters-in-law: Margie Koester of Ottoville, and Sis (Tom) Schimmoeller of Delphos, and many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. She is also survived by great nieces and great nephews.

Connie was preceded in death by a sister, Bettie (Paul) Altenburger; three brothers: James (Vera) Koester, Thomas Koester and Ralph Koester.

Connie was a 1946 graduate of Ottoville High School and furthered her education at the International Business College, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She pursued a career as a dedicated Principal Clerk of 39 years, for Navistar (International Harvester), Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Connie was a devout Catholic her entire life. She loved and was totally dedicated to our Lord. Connie had a sincere devotion to our Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. Connie's greatest joy was praying the rosary. She would often say, “I’ve prayed a special rosary for you today.” Connie was a faithful prayer  warrior for her family, friends and others. She was a parishioner at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Fort Wayne, Indiana.   Connie was a lifelong family member of the EWTN Global Catholic Network. She often spoke of Sister Mother Angelica’s works, founder of EWTN.

Connie loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed her many vacation travels with her dear friends. She enjoyed playing the violin and clarinet, in her younger years. Connie enjoyed cheering on the Notre Dame fighting Irish football team and watching old classic movies.  She always wanted to know the latest updates on her great nieces and nephews.
