Cory J. Trenkamp
Ft. JENNINGS – Cory J. Trenkamp, 41, of Ft. Jennings died 10:04 a.m., Sunday April 10, 2022, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. He was born February 15, 1981, in Lima to Carl and Christine (Fischer) Trenkamp who survive in Ft. Jennings.
Other survivors include two sisters: Amanda (Robert) Mosely of Lewis Center and Abby (Chris) Nichols of Ft. Jennings; a niece, Lindsey Nichols; four nephews: Ben Nichols, Patrick Nichols, Evan Mosely and Izak Mosely; and paternal grandmother, Jacqueline Trenkamp of Ft. Jennings.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, August Trenkamp and maternal grandparents, Francis and Jeanette Fischer.
Cory was a 1999 graduate of Ft. Jennings High School and received his BS in Mathematics in 2006 from Wright State University. He taught at West Central Learning Academy in Lima. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings. Cory was a devoted Cincinnati Reds and Bengals fan. He was an old soul who taught lessons of integrity, patience, and wisdom. He loved being an uncle and godfather. Cory enjoyed going to concerts, basking in the sun, and playing video games with his niece and nephews. He inspired many by being an advocate for disabilities as founder and president of West Central Ohio Paralysis Foundation.
Funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings with Fr. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Twp and one hour prior to the mass Wednesday at the church.
Memorial donations may be given to the West Central Ohio Paralysis Foundation.
