Dean A. Critten
MARRERO, LA – Dean A. Critten, 51 of Marrero, LA formerly of Leipsic, died in Louisiana. He was born January 21, 1967 in Lima to Charles J. and Virginia (Brooks) Critten. His father is deceased. His mother survives in Leipsic.
Other survivors include two children: Amanda (Billy Kerley) Critten of Marrero, LA, Jarred Cadres of Gretna, LA; a granddaughter, Annabelle Quick; three brothers: Charles “Jimmy” Critten, Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK, Steven Critten of Leipsic and Timothy (Amanda) Critten of West Leipsic; a sister, Billy (Brian) Sallee of Alger; ex-wife, Candice Gray of Marrero, LA; and friends: Juana Cadres and Justin Cadres both of Gretna, LA and Cindy Henson of Darrow LA.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Shellie Critten.
Dean was a countroom attendant at the Treasure Chest Casino in Kenner, LA. He was a US Navy Veteran serving in the Persian Gulf. Dean enjoyed NASCAR, The Ohio State Buckeyes, New Orleans Saints and Elvis. He loved to travel, especially to the Smoky Mountains. Most of all, Dean loved his family and his cats.
A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2018 at LOVE –HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Ruth Carter-Crist officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic with military rites by the Leipsic American Legion. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
