Dennis G. Hoffman

  LEIPSIC – Dennis G. Hoffman, 71, of Leipsic, died 5:55 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at The Meadows of Kalida. He was born August 14, 1952, in Lima to the late Harold G. and Esther Mae (Harmon) Hoffman. 

  Survivors include two sisters: Genevieve (Keith) Dysert of Rawson and Linda (Charles) McKean of Ada; six nephews: Jeremy Moore, Alan Dysert, Brandon Cavanaugh, Bryan Cavanaugh, Christopher Riker and Shaun Riker; and several great nieces and nephews.

  He is also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley (Carl) Riker; and a brother-in-law, Tim Cavanaugh.

  Dennis retired from Brookhill Industries, Ottawa. He enjoyed music, sporting events, people watching and going on vacation to Wolf Lake. Dennis had a great sense of humor and loved tinkering and riding lawn mowers.  He also enjoyed spending time with his cat, Buddy. Dennis was a man of few words, but was always able to get his point across. He was grateful for his caregivers, both at Brookhill and ISS and considered them his family.  Because of this great care, Dennis was able to stay in his home until recently.

  A special thanks to the staff that cared for him Putnam County Board of DD and APSI for their years of service to Dennis.

  Graveside service will begin 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Benton Ridge Cemetery, Benton Ridge with Deacon Jim Rump officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9 -11 a.m. on Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
