  LEIPSIC – Dennis Aloysius Niese, 73, of Leipsic, passed away at 6:17 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at his residence surrounded by family.  He was born June 28, 1947 in Leipsic to the late Andrew and Marcella (Kreinbrink) Niese.  On July 8, 2000, he married Diane Olsen and she survives in Leipsic.

  Dennis is survived by four children: Brad (Sandra) Niese of Columbus, MI,  Benjamin Niese of Ottawa, Andrew (Laura) Niese of Pandora and April Chavez of Leipsic; five grandchildren: Morgan Chavez, Austin Niese, Mya Chavez, Brayden Niese and Trenton Niese; three brothers: Arthur (Dorothy) Niese, William (Helen) Niese, Bernard (Florence) Niese all of Leipsic; four sisters: Louann Dulle of Edon, Evelyn Verhoff of Ottawa, Lucille (William) Morman of Columbus Grove and Rosella Karhoff of Ottawa.

  He was preceded in death by a sister, Henrietta Otto; four brothers-in-law: Leo Otto, Robert Dulle, Lambert Verhoff and Harold Karhoff.

  Dennis graduated from Leipsic High School in 1965. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic where he was an usher for several years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Ottawa. Dennis retired from Whirlpool in 2012. He enjoyed working on his tractors, working outside making new projects, watching sports, especially his grandkids' sporting events, and spending time with family. Dennis had three loves in life: faith, farming and family.

  Funeral mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Father William Pifher officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Leipsic.  Visitation will be two hours prior to mass from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Parish Life Center, Leipsic.

  Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Church, Leipsic.
