Dennis Karl “Stecker” Stechschulte
GLANDORF – Dennis Karl “Stecker” Stechschulte, 67, of Glandorf, died at 11:31 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 20, 1953 in Lima to Karl and Blanche (Schroeder) Stechschulte, they survive in Columbus Grove. On February 16, 1974, he married Mary Ann Wagner, she survives in Glandorf. They were married 47 years to the day.
Other survivors include three daughters: Dana (Rob) Franks of Ottawa, Renee (Brian) Spangler of Leipsic, Dawn (Jared) Roether of Ottawa; a son: Ryan (Amanda Straley) Stechschulte of Ottawa; 7 grandchildren: Regan Franks, Tyler Spangler, Haley Stechschulte, Kaiden and Liyla Roether, Landyn and Evelyn Stechschulte; 2 brothers: Ken (Doris) Stechschulte of Kalida, Don (Diane) Stechschulte of Columbus Grove; a sister: Mary Kay (Doug) Langhals of Columbus Grove; a sister-in-law: Tracine (Paul Woodruff) Stechschulte; several in-laws; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Stechschulte; father and mother-in-law, Paul and Dorothy Wagner.
Dennis was member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and its Men’s Society, as well as a mass server. He was a 1972 graduate of Columbus Grove High School. He was a self-employed owner, operator of Stecker’s Transport for many years. He was a past member of the Ottawa Volunteer Fire Department. Dennis was a member of the Ottawa and Leipsic Eagles, Glandorf Rod and Gun Club, where he was also a past president. He was also a social member of the Ottawa VFW, a life member of the Leipsic Fish and Hunting Club and Ottawa K of C. Dennis loved his wife, children and grandchildren, he enjoyed spending time with them, even if they were really loud and drove him nuts!
Funeral mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Father Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In keeping with the social distancing guidelines, a visitation will be held Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. Masks will be required upon entering the church.
