Dennis J. “Denny” Myers
LEIPSIC – Dennis J. “Denny” Myers, 71, of Leipsic, passed away at 10:35 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Bridge Hospice Findlay Care Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 20, 1951 in Lima to the late Norman E. and Helen J. (McCandless) Myers. In 1974, he married Joyce Gebhardt and later separated. He then met the love of his life of 19 years, Dawn Badertscher, who survives in Leipsic.
Denny is also survived by two children: April (Marco) Patino and Lindsay (Ron) Klinebriel; three stepchildren: Crystal (Tommy) Santos, Toney Hernandez and Tobey Hernandez; seven grandchildren: Dallas Patino, Nicco Patino, Maci Klinebriel, Kamri Klinebriel, Kyle (Abby) Klinebriel, Abby (Devin) Mangas, and Caleb (Callie) Klinebriel; six step-grandchildren: Brooklynn, Braxton, Grady, Tatum, Preslynn and Samantha; six great-grandchildren: Amyah, Jonah, Klark, Taylin, Avery and Kohen; a sister, Diane Shidler; two brothers: Gary (Patty) Myers and Joe (Nancy) Myers; two sisters-in-law: Vickie Myers and Barb Myers; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim (Darlene) Badertscher; and in-laws: Faune (Tony) Schroeder, Carl (Michaela) Badertscher, Christa (Rick) Lammers and Nina (Anthony) Gladen.
He was also preceded in death by a brother Norman Myers Jr. and a brother-in-law, Ken Shidler.
Denny was a lifelong truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, camping and was an avid Harley Davidson rider. In 1984, he received the Goodyear Highway Hero Award, Carnegie Hero Award, and also an award from Senator Ben Gath for saving a man’s life from a burning truck. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
No services will be held at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.
