 OTTAWA – Diane M. Roof, 76, of Ottawa, died at 12:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the Meadows of Ottawa.  She was born August 13, 1944 in Bluffton to the late Thomas and Elizabeth “Jane” (Sutter) Crawford.  On June 1, 1970 she married Leo B. Roof, he preceded her in death on April 4, 2013.

  Diane is survived by two daughters: Linda Roof of Georgia, and Beverly (Peter) Ulrick of Ohio; a grandson: Bill Ulrick; a brother: Dale (Marsha) Crawford; three sisters: Mary Jane Levings, Patricia “Patsy” Benner, and Kay Crawford; and a family friend: Richard “Rick” Radabaugh; all of Ohio.

  She is also preceded in death by a brother: Larry (Sherry) Crawford; her lifelong best friend: Patricia “Pat” Goedde; two brothers-in-law: Keith Levings and Chuck Benner.

  Diane was a 1962 graduate of Johnsonville High School.  She waitressed at Cozy Corner, met Leo and became a wife and homemaker.  Later she held numerous jobs at Putnam Acres Care Center in Ottawa.   Diane was an avid Elvis Presley fan and enjoyed gardening, bowling, crocheting, reading, word puzzles and playing cards.  She liked to watch Wheel of Fortune and her favorite TV show was Lawrence Welk.  Diane adored the time she spent with her family as well as her friends from Henry’s.

  Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Pastor Kathleen Hayes officiating.  Burial will follow in St Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Leipsic.  A visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  

  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice or the family.
