Dolores Dorothy “Kitty” Van Oss

  OTTOVILLE – Dolores D.” Kitty” Van Oss, 99, of Ottoville passed away at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at the Meadows of Kalida.  She was born October 26, 1922 in Fort Jennings, to the late Ben and Lucy (Martin) Schulte.  On October 28, 1942 she married Joseph F. Van Oss Jr., he preceded her in death on September 22, 1998.

  Dolores is survived by five children: Thomas (Sharon) Van Oss of Ottawa, Gloria Spencer of Ottoville, Janice (Bob) Warnement of Kalida, Bruce (Peggy) Van Oss of Lima, and Kevin “Beaver” (Cheryl) Van Oss of Ottoville; eleven grandchildren: Angie Bockrath, Brent (Vicky) Van Oss, Carrie (John) Karhoff, Judd Spencer, Scott (Cheryl) Warnement, Chris (Tara) Warnement, Craig (Angie) Warnement, Amber (fiancé Steve Fife) Warnement, Adam Van Oss, Andrea (Greg) Neimeyer, and Joseph (fiancée Nicole Kramer)Van Oss; seventeen great-grandchildren: Taylor (Nick) Leatherman, Cody (Danielle) Bockrath, Reese Van Oss, Jace Van Oss, Noel Warnement, Lani Jo Warnement, Kiana Warnement, Ty (Lexi) Warnement, Reed Warnement, Allison Warnement, Noah Weston, Jhay Warnement, Morgan Ridinger, Adelyn Ridinger, Ethan Ridinger, Ava Neimeyer, Claire Neimeyer; three great-great-grandchildren: Aylinn Leatherman, Jaysa Leatherman, Dawson Warnement and one on the way; and a sister-in-law: Mary Lou Schulte of Delphos.

  She is also preceded in death by a brother: Henry Schulte; two sisters: Loretta (Albert) Smith and Lorene (Norbert) Fuerst; a son-in-law: Dean Spencer; a grandson: Eric Spencer; and a great-grandson: Brady Warnement.

  Dolores was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville.

  Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Father Jerome Schetter officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
