Dorothy P. "Polly" Mangold

  LEIPSIC- Dorothy P. "Polly" Mangold, 85, of Leipsic died at 2:57 a.m. Monday, February 15, 2021 at Bridge Hospice, Findlay.  She was born on September 6, 1935 in Walnut Grove, IL to the late Raymond and Dorothy (Furniss) Calhoun. On December 30, 1955, she married Willis E. "Rabbit" Mangold.  He passed away on August 29, 2013.

  Survivors include a daughter: Vicky Mangold of Leipsic; and a sister-in-law: Karyn Calhoun of Hayward, CA.

  She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Deborah Mangold; and a brother: Gerald Calhoun.

  Polly was a member of the Leipsic United Methodist Church. She was a retired bookkeeper for the Village of Leipsic. Polly was also a charter member of the Leipsic Eagle's Auxiliary #2793 serving as secretary for thirty years as well as held various offices for District 24. She won many prestigious awards through the Eagles such as the Alta Browning Smith Award and the State Hall of Fame Award.  She was also a member of the 600 club.

  A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Laurie Beaty officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.  In keeping with the social distancing guidelines, visitation will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Masks will be required upon entering the funeral home.
