Eugene H. Ellerbrock
GLANDORF – Eugene H. Ellerbrock, 89 of Glandorf, died 10:05 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2024 at The Meadows of Ottawa. He was born April 3, 1935 in Lima to the late Leo and Mary (Kahle) Ellerbrock. On August 27, 1955 he married Edna M. Fenbert. She died May 30, 2020.
Survivors include 7 children: Sue (Linda Mackey) Ellerbrock of Ft Wayne, IN, Mark "Brooky" (Lisa) Ellerbrock of Ottawa, Pat Burkholder of Lima, Twig (Kevin) Bingley of Ottawa, Connie (Bruce Burkholder) Ellerbrock of Lima, Scott (Carla) Ellerbrock of Leipsic, and Nick (Teresa) Ellerbrock of Ottawa; a son-in-law, Chuck Otto of Leipsic; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and one on the way; 1 great-great grandchild; a sister, Judy Ward of Findlay; and a brother-in-law, Norman Schroeder of Leipsic.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Barb (Rick) Young Otto; a son-in-law, Barry Burkholder; a granddaughter, Amber Marie Ellerbrock; and two sisters: Margaret (Lawrence) Stechschulte and Marilyn Schroeder.
Gene was a lifelong farmer, tractor mechanic for Shoemaker-Maag and made furniture for numerous stores. He was a very active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf where he was an originator of CHRP and Divine Mercy Chaplet. He also assisted in the development of the campgrounds at Glandorf Rod and Gun.
Funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Matt Keller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.
