Franklin G. Robbins
AYERSVILLE – Franklin Green Robbins, 85, of Ayersville passed away at 8:59 a.m. on Friday July 28, 2023, in Twinsburg, Ohio surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was born April 23, 1938 in Defiance, Ohio to the late Auddie and Marvel (Boggs) Robbins. On November 27, 1965, he married Helen L. Strite, who preceded him in death.
Frank is survived by his sons Jim (Brenda) Robbins of Twinsburg and Joe (JR) Andrion-Robbins of Dublin. He is also survived by his grandchildren Gillian and Grace Robbins, sisters Evelyn (Harold) Cook, Mae (Duane) Luderman, Gloria Auldrich, brothers Gene (Linda) Robbins, Paul Robbins, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Helen, sisters Rena Hartman, Martha Theis, Violet Chapman, and sister-in-law Donna Robbins.
Frank graduated from Defiance Highschool and was a member of the Coachman Car Club. In 1961, Frank enlisted in the Army and served in Bamberg, Germany as an Artillery Surveyor and Deuce-and-a-Half driver. After his discharge in 1963, Frank worked as a Metallurgist at the GM Defiance plant for 39 years, retiring in 1998. He married the love of his life, Helen, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2015. Frank and his wife enjoyed working in their gardens, volunteering, working on the Noodle Crew, church activities (Ayersville United Methodist), raising their two sons, and traveling the world. He adored his family and grandchildren and was able to spend the last years of his life immersed in the activities of his family who loved him dearly. Frank had a deep belief in God and faithfully waited to be rejoined with his wife in heaven. We rest peacefully in the knowledge of their reunion.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Pastor Charles Schmunk officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
