Helen M. Wehri
FORT JENNINGS – Helen M. Wehri, 87, of Fort Jennings, died 11:14 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the Meadows of Kalida. She was born May 2, 1935 in Fort Jennings to the late George and Loretta (Neidert) German. On October 1, 1955, she married Johnny Wehri. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2007.
Helen is survived by her daughter: Carol (Glenn) Miehls of McComb; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Wehri of Kalida; seven grandchildren: Steve (Christine) Wehri, Sheila (Shawn) Koenig, Renee (Eric) Steffen, Andrea (Doug) Giesige, Olivia Miehls, Jeff Miehls and Brad Miehls; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters: Sally Bergfeld of Waterville and Mildred Schroeder of Shelby; two sisters-in-law: Rose Ann German of Glandorf and Genevieve German of Fort Jennings; and brother-in-law, Roger Ebbeskotte of Delphos.
She was also preceded in death by her son, David Wehri; two brothers: Elmer and Richard German; sister, Ruth Ebbeskotte; and two brothers-in-law: Gene Bergfeld and Robert Schroeder.
Helen was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings. She loved cooking and caring for her family and grandkids. She enjoyed family gatherings, listening to country music and gardening. She was always willing to help her husband on the farm.
Funeral Mass will begin 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings with Fr. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 - 8 p.m. on Monday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township, where a scripture service will begin at 7:50 p.m. and one hour prior to mass on Tuesday at the church.
