James B. Hazelton

 ASHLAND - James B. Hazelton, 40, of Ashland, died at 8:54 a.m. on Monday, April 26, 2021 at his residence. He was born on July 17, 1980 in Cleveland to Susan Ellis and later adopted by John and Helen (Radabaugh) Hazelton. On October 9, 2018, he married Julia Heffelfinger. She survives in Ashland.

  Other survivors include his mother: Helen ("Poppa Joe" Ronald Brooks) Hazelton; 2 daughters: Nichelle Kephart of Tazewell, VA and Anneliese Hazelton of Ashland; brothers and sisters:  Zechariah Hazelton of Matamoras, Robert (Jennifer) Greene of Manhattan Beach, CA, Tanner Hazelton of Matamoras, Hayden Radabaugh of Carey, Chloee Hazelton, Gabriella Hazelton, Collyn Hazelton and Jacob Hazelton all of Upper Sandusky; nieces and nephews: Fiona Greene, Rebecca Hazelton, Preston Hazelton, Lavendar Radabaugh and Emmett Ward; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

  He was preceded in death by his father, John Hazelton.

  James was a truck driver, mechanic, electrician and wedding planner. In 2020, he officiated the wedding for his mother, Helen, and "Poppa Joe" Ronald Brooks. He loved his family immensely.  He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Royals.

  A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2021 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Pastor Travis McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow at Harman Cemetery, Gilboa.  In keeping within the guidelines of social distancing, a visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.  Masks will be required upon entering the funeral home.
