Janet Louise Dempster, RN
FORT JENNINGS – Janet Louise Dempster, RN, 74, of Fort Jennings died 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born September 28, 1945 in Lima to the late Forest and Martha (Calvelage) Feathers. On November 14, 1964 she married Wendell Ellis Dempster who passed away June 2, 1995.
She is survived by 6 children, Wendy (Tony) Korte of Fort Jennings, Joey (JoAnn) Dempster of Cloverdale, Troy (Jeannie) Dempster of Huntsville, Thad (Jennifer) Dempster of Arlington, Wendell Ellis Dempster II of Fort Jennings, and Ryan (Matt) Stevens of Alger; 13 grandchildren, AJ (Tiffany) Korte, Melissa (Derek) Rayle, Richard Dempster, Stephanie Korte, Lindsey (Robbie) McClure, Abbey (Jacob) Leonard, Amber Korte, Gage Dempster, Kelsey Dempster, Braydon Dempster, Isaac Stevens, Bentley Warner, and Ira Stevens; 5 great-grandchildren, Graysen Korte, Auburn Korte, Layla Korte, Mila McClure, and Isla McClure; a brother, Dave (Janet) Feathers of Delphos; 2 sisters, Jean Grothause and Judy (Errol) Schroeder, both of Fort Jennings; a brother-in-law, Dave Holden of Houston, TX; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Feathers of Delphos.
She is preceded in death by a brother, Richard Feathers; and a sister, Joyce Holden.
Janet was a registered nurse, she got her LPN at St. Rita's Nursing and went on to Lima Tech getting her RN. She worked in the ER, psychiatric floor, maternity, and DON. She loved spending time with family and her dogs, Nemo and Sasha. Her biggest joy was being a grandma and great-grandma. She enjoyed cooking and baking, making the best pumpkin and sugar cookies. She also enjoyed genealogy, growing plants, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and doing crafts. Janet also went camping, did crossword puzzles, and liked going to festivals of all kinds. Janet was an avid believer in voting. She mostly loved helping others.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date as well as burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Fort Jennings. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township
