John R. Brecht

  CONTINENTAL - John R. Brecht, 79, of Continental, died Thursday, January 13, 2022 at his residence. He was born June 4, 1942 in Defiance to Paul and Doris (Johnston) Brecht.   On June 6, 1974 he married, Karen Richardson. She died March 21, 2001. On May 27, 2003 he married, Linda Sue Jordan. She died on June 27, 2020.

  John is survived by two children gained by marriage: Richard J. (Katrena) Ebersole of Tennessee and Jaimee R. Ebersole of Continental; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and two brothers: Dennis (Donna) Brecht and Kenneth (Jill) Brecht, both of Continental.

  He was also preceded in death by a son, Rick Brecht; a stepdaughter, Carol Ebersole; and a brother, William Brecht.

  John worked for Defiance Precision Products for 33 years. He was a social member of the Continental American Legion.

  A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Rev. Max Begley officiating. Burial will follow at Monroe Cemetery, Continental. Visitation will be held 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022  and again on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
