John V. Cain

  LEIPSIC – John V. Cain, 75, of Leipsic passed away at 8:39 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at The Meadows of Ottawa.  He was born on June 11, 1946 in Lima to the late Waldo and Ruth (Meyers) Cain. 

  Survivors include two siblings:  Paul (Nancy) Cain of Leipsic and Susan (Ken) Holko of San Diego, CA; six nieces and nephews: Dr. Brett (Joanna) Holko, Benjamin (Erin) Holko, Sarah (Justin) Valeron, Dr. Andrew (Nicole Arduser) Cain, Dr. Nathan (Taylor) Cain and Dr. Joshua (Brittany) Cain; 12 great-nieces and nephews: Brooke Holko, Vivienne Holko, Jacob Holko, Ryan Holko, Warner Valeron, Emma Sue Valeron, Waylon Dice, Lexington Cain, Titus Cain, Athena Cain, Artemis Cain and Aurora Cain.

  John was a retired truck driver for Cast Metals in Deshler.  He was a 1964 graduate of Leipsic High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He was a member of Leipsic United Methodist church and Leipsic American Legion. John was secretary for a local Ham Radio Club. He was an avid car buff and enjoyed muscle cars, antiques and car races. John loved to take drives and especially loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.

  A funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Leipsic United Methodist Church with Pastor Laurie Beaty officiating.  Burial will follow at Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic with military rites by the Leipsic VFW and American Legion. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the church.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Putnam County Hospice.
