John Joseph Gerdeman

 GLANDORF – John J. Gerdeman, 84, of Glandorf died on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at his residence.   He was born December 10, 1936 in Lima to the late Harry and Theresa (Rieman) Gerdeman.  On August 22, 1959, he married Mary Ann Beckman, she survives in Glandorf.

 John is also survived by three children: Debra (Greg) Maag of Ottawa, Daniel (June) Gerdeman of Glandorf, and Patricia (Mike) Moening of Ottawa; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren with two on the way.

  He is preceded in death by a brother, Cletus Gerdeman; and two brothers-in-law, Elmer (Mary Lee) Beckman, and Donald (Jackie) Beckman.

  John was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf.  He was also a member of the Ottawa Eagles.  He loved to go to Ottawa-Glandorf boys basketball games.  John also loved fishing and playing cards on Thursday afternoons.

  Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Father Tony Fortman officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  In keeping with the social distancing guidelines, a visitation will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass at the church.  Masks will be required upon entering the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
