John Lee Guyton Sr.
MELROSE-John Lee Guyton Sr., 70, of Melrose, died at 12:48 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2021 at his residence. He was born July 15, 1950 to the late Homer and Methel (McCullough) Guyton. On August 31, 1974 he married Susan Porter, she survives in Melrose.
John is also survived by his children: Jeanne Gribble of Melrose, Pam Law of Ft. Wayne, IN., John (Cassie) Guyton Jr. of Delphos, Joe (Melissa) Guyton and Chuck Davis, both of Paulding.; fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers: Ray Dean Guyton of Melrose and Everett (Barb) Guyton of Cloverdale; and a sister: Goldie Sinn of Payne.
He is preceded in death by his parents and in-laws; a grandson, Robbie Seffernick; a sister, Nancy Betzer; two brothers-in-law; a sister-in-law; and a nephew.
John was a truck driver for Active Transportation for 30 years. He had attended Pioneer Christian Ministries, Van Wert.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2021 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Rev. Terry Porter and Rev. Chuck Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in Little Auglaize Cemetery, Melrose. In keeping with the social distancing guidelines, a visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Masks will be required upon entering the funeral home.
