John R. Stechschulte
OTTAWA - John R. Stechschulte, 90, of Ottawa, died at 6:33 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021 at his residence. He was born January 26, 1931 in Columbus Grove to the late Frank and Marguerite (Kiene) Stechschulte. On October 15, 1955, he married Betty L. Recker. She survives in Ottawa.
Other survivors include three children: Alan (Ruth) Stechschulte, Steven (Kathy) Stechschulte and Jeff (Michelle) Stechschulte, all of Ottawa; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings: Jerry (Paula) Stechschulte of Columbus Grove, Jean Schulte of Ottawa, Mary (Wayne) Sutter of Mt. Horeb, WI., Karl (Blanche) Stechschulte, Joe Stechschulte, both of Columbus Grove; three sisters-in-law: Margaret Stechschulte of Columbus Grove, Ruth Ann Stechschulte of Ottawa, and Mary Lou Stechschulte of Columbus Grove; and a brother-in-law: Bill Eversole of Columbus Grove.
John was preceded in death by six brothers: Robert (Agnes) Stechschulte, Francis (Jean) Stechschulte, Maurice Stechschulte, Harry Stechschulte, David Stechschulte and Patrick (Sharon) Stechschulte; a sister: Marguerite Eversole; a brother-in-law: Ed Schulte; and a sister-in-law: Judy Stechschulte.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Columbus Grove. John was a machine repairman at Ford Motor Company. He was a great mechanic who could fix just about anything that was broken. John enjoyed woodworking and camping. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Private services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
