Juan G. Camareno, Sr.
OTTAWA – Juan G. Camareno, Sr., 65 of Ottawa, passed away at 9:25 p.m., Monday, December 5, 2022 at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Hospital, Lima. He was born January 24, 1957 in Pharr, Texas to the late Genaro and Maria Florestella (Enriquez) Camareno.
Survivors include his longtime girlfriend, Sheryl Okuley; five children: Michelle (William) Camareno-Rose of Danville, IL, Teresa (Bill Jerwers) Camareno of Ottawa, Juan (Jennifer) Camareno, Jr., Mark Camareno and Brandy Camareno, all of Danville, IL; 31 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and five siblings: Daniel Camareno of Ottawa, Melba (Antonio) Navarro of Leipsic, David (Cynthia) Camareno of Houston, TX, Cindy Camareno and Chris Camareno, both of Ottawa.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Angie Martin; a grandson, Austin Camareno; and two brothers: Benny Camareno, Sr. and Freddy Camareno.
Juan worked as a material handler for Unarco, Pandora. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and Ottawa Eagles. Juan was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. One of his favorite pastimes was bowling with his stepdaughter, Adrian Bibler, in the Leipsic Bowling League. Juan loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will begin 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2022, and one hour prior to the mass on Saturday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
