Kenneth W. Von Sossan

   FORT JENNINGS – Kenneth W. Von Sossan, 86, of Fort Jennings died Sunday, January 10, 2021 following surgery.  He was born March 24, 1934 in Fort Jennings to the late Joseph W. and Ligouri (Wittler) Von Sossan.  On April 14, 1956 he married Margaret “Marge” Schimmoeller, who survives in Fort Jennings.

   Also surviving are 7 children:  Becky (Duane) Von Lehmden of Fort Jennings, Doug (Cheryl) Von Sossan of Elida, Barb (Mike) Sinn of Paulding, Kathy (Don) Bonifas of Fort Jennings, Darrell (Theresa) Von Sossan of Ottoville, Rose Anne Boggs of Fort Jennings and Dean (Eva) Von Sossan of Fort Jennings; 18 grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers:  John (Phyllis) Von Sossan, James (Norma) Von Sossan and Daniel (Sandy) Von Sossan; and 2 sisters:  Joanne Von Sossan and Mary Kay (Karl) Kennedy.

   Ken is preceded in death by a son-in-law: Tom Boggs and a brother: Robert Von Sossan

   Ken was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings and was a member of Friends of Hope.  He was a self-employed Accountant with Von Sossan Accountants since 1976. He was the Fort Jennings Village Clerk/Treasurer for 40 years.  Ken enjoyed coaching Little League baseball for 30+ years and was also the FJHS basketball scorekeeper for 30+ years and was honored to be the scorekeeper for the OHSAA State Basketball Championship in the early 90s.

   The funeral mass for Ken will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings with Father Charles Obinwa officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  In keeping with social distancing guidelines and COVID-19 restrictions, visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.  Masks and social distancing are required at church.  Arrangements are by LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
