Lawrence Joseph Peck
KALIDA - Lawrence Joseph Peck, 82, of Kalida, died 3:57 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at his residence. He was born December 30, 1938 in New Bavaria to the late Alfred J. and Irene (Steffes) Peck. On June 28, 1958, he married Joan Siefker. She survives in Kalida.
Other survivors include eight children: Richard (Ruth) Peck of Kalida, Janet Luna of Deshler, Bonnie (Ron) Knueve of Kalida, Ann (Sam) Warnecke of Oklahoma City, OK, Karl (Julie) Peck of Kalida, Ron (Lesley) Peck of Kalida, Mary (Rick) Kortokrax of Kalida and Larry (Ashley) Peck of Kalida; 14 grandchildren: Rose Marie (Charles) Romer, Alisha (Nate) Goedde, Mandy (Mac) McKnight, Evan (Tara) Peck, Jessica (Adam) Unverferth, Mike Peck, Nick Kersh, Tyler (Kendra) Kortokrax, Dillon Warnecke, Devin (Olivia) Kortokrax, David Peck, Andrew Peck, Makenna Peck and Kylie Peck; 7 great-grandchildren: Lily Eagleson, Hazel and Rhett Goedde, Quinn McKnight, Meline and Nolan Peck, Lollah Warnecke; and sisters-in-law: Helen Gerding, Eunice Pohl, Catherine Siefker, Marilyn Siefker, Jane Kleman, Marie (Ron) Kuhlman and Joan Siefker.
He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, John Luna; a grandson, Mathew Luna; a brother, James J. Peck; brothers-in-law: Joe Gerding, Tom Siefker, Barney Pohl, Dan Siefker, Earl Kleman and James (Esther) Siefker; and sister-in-law: Carol (Virgil) Ellerbrock.
Lawrence retired from Scot Lad Foods. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida and its Holy Name Society, charter member of the Kalida Fish and Game, as well as Ottawa and Lima Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Lawrence was a proud recipient of the Mack Million Mile Award.
Funeral mass will begin 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2021 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Father Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until the time of mass at the church on Monday.
