Lillian Lorraine “Sue” Carey
September 9, 1928 – January 19, 2023
When you read this, I will have left my earthly bonds and returned to my Heavenly Father. I will be joining my earthly father and mother, Algie and Lucille (Privette) Stringfield, my wonderful husband, Jack Carey, and my precious son, Jack Shea Carey.
I leave behind in this life my other precious son and his wife, Andrew and Leann (Miller) Carey of Ottoville, OH; daughter-in-law, Vickie Carey of White House, TN; three grandchildren: Christopher (Nancy Tam) Carey of Kaiserslautern, Germany, Jessica (Glen) Adkins of White House, TN and Sheana (Michael) Fox of Greenbrier, TN. I also leave six great-grandchildren: Cole Neely, Keegan Fox, Addison Adkins, Hudson Fox, Beau Adkins and Samuel Adkins.
I was born in Knoxville, TN and raised in Detroit, MI. I married Jack in 1947 and lived in the Dayton area until 2002. I then moved to Ottoville, Otterbein at St. Mary’s and then Van Crest in Delphos, OH. I know I have failed my precious Lord many times but I hope when I have touched your life, you have felt God’s love. And I now return to my beautiful Tennessee mountains to wait for Jesus’ return.
Sue has been cremated and her family will hold a private graveside service on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Piney Baptist Church and Cemetery in Oakdale, TN. Local arrangements have been handled by LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Van Crest in Delphos for their friendship and care of Sue over the years. Both assisted living and the nursing care have been wonderful.
