Margaret L. Hunter
LEIPSIC – Margaret L. Hunter, a longtime resident of Leipsic passed away at 5:43 a.m., Sunday, January 9, 2022 at The Meadows of Leipsic at the age of 100 years. She was welcomed into her heavenly home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and reunited with her beloved husband Orin Lee Hunter. Margaret was born May 26, 1921 in Jackson, Ohio to the late James Monroe and Margaret (Hodgson) Lackey. She married Orin Lee Hunter on December 7, 1942, and he passed on October 5, 2006.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Hunter who was born and died on May 7, 1948; and five siblings: Thelma, Lora, Leonidas, James and George.
Margaret was a graduate of Jackson High School as well as attended the University of Rio Grande, Bluffton University, the University of Findlay and Bowling Green State University. She leaves behind generations of students she lovingly taught throughout her 32 years in the classroom. Margaret spent 29 of those years in Leipsic Local School and the others in Columbus Grove and Gilboa. She was a member of Leipsic United Methodist Church and loved reading, traveling and playing the organ. She is grateful for each friendship and the love she received in her life and looks forward to seeing all of you again in life’s tomorrow. God bless and guide you all.
Funeral service for Margaret will begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Leipsic United Methodist Church with Pastor Ruth Carder-Crist officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. The family requests masks and social distancing as requirement upon entrance into the church.
