Marvin W. Heitmeyer
LEIPSIC – Marvin W. Heitmeyer, 72, of Leipsic died 12:16 p.m., Sunday, November 20, 2022 at the Meadows of Kalida surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 20, 1950 in Gilboa to the late Joseph and Lucille (Fenbert) Heitmeyer. On August 3, 1974 he married Lorraine D’Atri and she survives in Leipsic.
Other survivors include two children: Tracy (Lad) Dilgard of Galena and Bryan Heitmeyer of Seattle, WA; two grandchildren: Brayden Kuhlman and Quinn Kuhlman; seven siblings: Urban (Joyce) Heitmeyer of Garland, TX, Dolores Goecke of Glandorf, Edna (Dennis) Brown of Ottawa, Irene (Dennis) Recker of Findlay, Mel (Sherry) Heitmeyer of Bluffton, Art (Bonnie) Heitmeyer of Glandorf and Sue (Tom) Mutchler of New Bavaria; a sister-in-law, Alice Heitmeyer of Ottawa; and a brother-in-law, AR Charnes of McCormick, SC.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Heitmeyer; a sister, Mary Ann Charnes; and a brother-in-law, Roger Goecke.
Marvin retired as the Industrial Arts teacher at Leipsic Local Schools after over 30 years. He was a lifelong farmer and volunteered with the Putnam County Habitat for Humanity and Leipsic Food Pantry. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic and enjoyed mowing and providing snow removal for the church and school. He was also a member of the Port Authority of Northwest Ohio. Marvin was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University and University of Dayton. He also enjoyed Leipsic School sports. He loved his grandchildren very much and enjoyed spending time with them and attending their sporting events.
Funeral mass will begin at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at LOVE HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and one hour prior to the funeral Wednesday at the St. Mary’s Parish Life Center.
